Monday Look Back #5: November 19

Time for the Monday Look Back, where we bring you all the news we missed last week and links to everything we didn’t — just in case you did.

This past week LEGO Lord of the Rings hit digital shelves and brought along with it a new trailer. We learn that Derrick the Deathfin may have cost more to create then it will ever make from sales. Sony also release top PSN sales for October with The Walking Dead snatching up three spots on the list, proving that point and click adventures aren’t dead yet.

The Walking Dead takes number one in sales

Last month [September], zombies, sports and flying fists seem to be what the fans wanted.

September was a little bit of a slow month, but still saw some awesome PSN releases. Topping the chart from those releases is The Walking Dead — Episode 3: Long Road Home, with Counter Strike and 3 on 3 NHL nipping at its heels. LittleBigPlanet topped the charts for Vita sales, and we see even more hockey on the top with NHL 13 taking top PS3 add-ons for the month. Topping the classics chart chart is Rockstars hooker filled, GTA III for PS2 and the cult favorite Final Fantasy VII for the PSone.

PlayStation Store update: Week of August 20, 2012

Popping up this week on the PlayStation Store we have the long awaited Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, bringing us the classic team-based gameplay we know and love with new weapons, characters and levels. We also have the HD remakes of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, sadly though, you will have to buy the games separately for the PS3 and the PS Vita. Another interesting release this week is Retro/Grade, a ‘shmup’ that you travel backwards in order to save the space time continuum. As always you can check out all the newest releases just after the jump!

PSNFancast Episode 9 – Imminent Segue

E3 is over, but to Angelo Valdivia, Chris Hague and Josiah Renaudin, that just means it’s time to discuss all the games and announcements from a crazy week. New releases and news of the world are discussed, but similar to last week’s show, the focus is on the gaming Christmas that is the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

What games impressed the staff at PSNFans? What was missing that everyone was looking forward to, and did Sony do what it needed to do at this 2012 show? All of these questions are answered, along with some serious fan feedback.

Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast on iTunes. We really appreciate it! Check us out on Twitter (@PSNfans) for some great contests, and don’t forget to send us questions to be read on the next show! Tweet at us with PSN-related inquiries, as well as 140-character opinions on your favorite game from E3 for our “This Week’s Game” segment. Also check out the latest edition of the XBLA Fancast for even more audio goodness (after you finish this podcast, of course).
