Frankfurt-based developer Deck13 Interactive have partnered with dtp Entertainment to bring new action-RPG Blood Knights to PSN. With gameplay designed specifically with cooperative play in mind, Blood Knights takes the well-established action roleplaying formula that has made games such as Diablo so popular and aims to inject new life into the genre.
Fast-paced combat, environmental dangers and menacing boss battles found in many games of this ilk combine with an interesting story of two unlikely partners – Jeremy, the legendary vampire-slayer and Alysa, deadly vampiress – bound together (not dissimilar to Enslaved) to defeat a common evil.
Deck13 have dabbled in the action-RPG genre before with their previous title Venetica releasing as a retail game on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 to very mixed reviews. A new artistic direction, an interesting premise and a more focussed scope via PSN could provide a tight and enjoyable experience in Blood Knights.
