Guardians of Middle-Earth gets a release date

Guardians of Middle-earth, the Middle-earth themed MOBA in development by Monolith Productions, has a release date. Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that players will be able to take Middle-earth’s greatest  heroes into battle on December 4.

The game will get both a digital and retail release, and there is plenty to differentiate the two. The digital copy will run players $14.00 and include no DLC incentives and no Season Pass. The retail copy will cost players $29.00, but will get you access to pre-paid, discounted DLC, a Season Pass, and PSN vouchers equal in value to the $14.00 digital version of the game.

Guardians of Middle-earth will feature tie-ins to Peter Jackson’s upcoming film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and will allow players to take more than 20 iconic Middle-earth characters to battle. The game will allow players to create teams with characters from both sides of Middle-earth’s epic war and includes a comprehensive online stat and leader board system that will allow you to track your friends’ triumphs and defeats.

Look for Guardians of Middle-earth to hit PSN and select stores on December 4.
