Play as a guardian angel in this upcoming platformer called Harold

Sounds like a strange concept right, don’t worry, we thought so too. In this new “platformer racing puzzle game” from Moon Spider Studios, we get to take control of a guardian angel who is pitted with the task of helping the “gangly framed”, Harold win races. This comes as no easy task, as Harolds guardian angel, you will have to manipulate the environment around you to make sure Harold can continue his task as a racer, while simultaneously sabotaging the course for his opponents.

Moon Spider Studio will be displaying Harold, which is also their first game as a studio, at the upcoming PAX Prime. No word on how we will be interacting with the environment or why we are helping Harold win these races, but we do know that we can expect to see it released in Spring 2013. In the recent press release, Loris Malek, President of Moon Spider Studio, had this to say:

We have a fantastic team here at Moon Spider Studio and all I want to do is make good games…we’ve assembled some of the most talented artists, designers and programmers from inside and outside of the video game industry, each with incredible pedigrees. We’ve been working on Harold for a while now and we can’t wait to finally show our creation to the world.

Hopefully with this being on display at PAX Prime, we will get some hands on time and maybe a some gameplay footage. Until then, feast your eyes on these few screenshots that we have wrangled up for you and definitely gives it a Pitfall meets Hercules feel.
