Sony gave gamers a glimpse at the redesigned PlayStation Store for the PS3 last week. Though it has been launched and pulled offline for the United Kingdom today, there is no word if this will affect the North American (US, Mexico, and Canada) launch on the 23rd of October. The revamp of the online store is the first major change in nearly four years, adding a variety of new functions.
Sony “wanted to address a lot of the comments they received” in the PlayStation Store overhaul. They implemented an attractive interface, while adding ease of access of relevant information for the user. Predictive text aids searching for items and genre/category splash pages should make finding items in the store more intuitive. While US users will most likely see these new changes new week, United Kingdom PS3 users experienced long load times and payment issues during this week’s launch, causing Sony to revert to the older, usable version. There has been no mention of when the new store design will function again for that region.
Look for the update in the US, Tuesday, October 23rd 2012. Check out the Official video for more information-
