Sony has Nothing Planned for Resistance Franchise

After a strong trilogy developed by Insomniac Games and two portable releases from other Sony studios, it seems as if the Resistance franchise has run its course.

Though nothing is definitive, people over at Sony have no plans to continue the series that was established at the launch of the PlayStation 3.

“The Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on but as for the future we have no definitive plans,” said Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Online producer Daniel Brooke to OPM.

Resistance: Burning Skies, developed by Nihilistic Software, was the last Resistance game to be released. It was generally panned by critics, and with the Vita’s install based not exactly impressive at the moment, it can be assumed that it didn’t do so hot at retail, either.

It was a fun ride, but without Insomniac at the helm, there’s little chance that we’ll so a new, quality Resistance title anytime soon.
