As you know, when Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time makes its debut next year (February 5, 2013), it’ll come out on both the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita. The developers over at Sanzaru Games wanted to give players a reason to own both version of the game, and they do this by providing what they call Augmented Reality treasures. Sly Cooper games have always been jampacked with collectibles, and Thieves in Time is no different. With this feature, the Vita will serve as a tool to help you find these collectibles. Over on the PlayStation Blog EU Steve Oldacre (of development studio Devil’s Details) has announced an upcoming multiplayer AR game for the Vita titled Table Top Tanks. As the the name suggests, Vita owners will be able to use the augmented reality power of their handhelds to hold small tank skirmishes within their immediate real-life environments. The game also supports ad-hoc (local) multiplayer for competitive play.
To up the stakes and scale of the battles, Oldacre also suggests printing off A4-sized AR markers (found here) to set up larger matches on the floor if a table is too small.
Table Top Tanks will be available on the Vita’s Store on May 23rd for €1.99.
