Sonic 4: Episode II Speeding Our Way May 15

Sonic 4: Episode 1 signified Team Sonic’s return to the side scrolling, platforming roots that built this franchise. In a conversation with Joystiq at PAX East a SEGA rep confirmed that we will once again be seeing the blue and orange duo in Sonic 4: Episode 2 on May 15. Sadly this may be the last Episode of the new Sonic 4 series, as was recently revealed a few weeks back. Though the future for the franchise is unclear, we can at least revel in the fact that we have one final game coming our way.

New Sonic 4: Episode II Trailer Speeds Our Way

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past two decades you know who SEGA and Sonic are. You probably also know that Episode 1 of Sonic 4 finally made its debut in 2010, with this long awaited series going back to its roots. Sonic Team has worked hard to bring us back to the core Sonic elements, which made us love this little blue guy in the first place. In this new gameplay trailer for Sonic 4: Episode 2 we get to see Sonic and his two-tailed side kick, Miles “Tails” Prower, do what they do best: work together to save their animal friends and the world from Doctor Eggman.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 2 finally announced

After the release of Sonic 4 Episode 1 during October 2010, fans have been waiting for Episode 2 to drop, but for more than a year, nothing was announced. Well, that has finally changed thanks to Sega’s announcement that Episode 2 will be released during 2012 for a plethora of consoles and devices: Xbox LIVE® Arcade, PlayStation®Network, and mobile platforms including the App Store, Android Market and Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7.

After the release of Episode 1, Sega has taken the player’s feedback into consideration. Sporting all-new characters animations, a completely reworked physics engine, and Tails as your trusty sidekick, Episode 2 sets out to please fans and new players alike.
