No minors allowed on South Korea PSN

Playstation_Network_Logo

Last year South Korea decided that any child under the age of 16 should have their online gaming privileges restricted. This new decision lead to the “Shutdown Law,” this new law now made it illegal for children under the age of 16 to play games between the hours of midnight and 6 A.M. – this put services like PSN in a sort of bind. In response SONY pulled the PlayStation Network from South Korea, making sure they avoided any possible violation of this new law.

Now, SONY is back and ready to put the PlayStation Network back up and running in South Korea. Their new plan is to only allow those who are 18 and older on the service, requiring you to have a credit card to prove your age. As an added bonus, they [SONY] will also be giving a free month of PlayStation Plus to those who already had an active account a year ago when the service went down.

Although the credit card thing may be able to keep people from creating under age accounts, we’re not completely sure that will keep kids offline or off the service. Many children under the age of 16, in many countries, use other peoples accounts because they don’t have their own online account for one reason or another. What is to stop that from happening here, how will they know when a minor child gets on, say, their big brother or parents account. Do you believe that children under the age of 16 will be on the PlayStation Network come May 16 when it relaunches, let us know what you think in the comments section.

Persona 2: Eterrnal Punishment now on PSN

persona2

Persona 2 suffered from split personalities. The game was split between two different games, Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment and saw remakes on the PSP, though Eternal Punishment was not released in the US. So do this mean we are finally getting that long sought after version? Not exactly.

ATLUS had encountered some significant issues with localizing the PSP version of the game. As a peace offering to fans the company has released the PSOne version on PSN. This version is mostly similar to the PSP version though the translation is not on par with recent localizations of the Persona series. A clarification list can be found on the PlayStation blog, here.

Up until today however, it seems that there were issues downloading the game to the PSP and PS Vita. PSP owners enjoyed a work around by downloading the game to their PS3 and then transferring the games to the PSP. The game seems to be accessible as of this morning for PS Vita owners.

You can help Maya Amano solve the mystery of the Joker Curse, battle or negotiate with demons, and watch rumors you spread come to life for only $9.99.

Pid Review (PSN)

Pid Logo

These past few years have seen a heavy influx of puzzle games, and many of them have stood out. With such a plethora of them, it’s hard to create one that is unique, but Might and Delight have accomplished exactly that with their Puzzle/Platformer, Pid. While inconsistent in parts, Pid holds up its end of the bargain for the most part, delivering a riveting experience full of inventive brainteasers all wrapped up in vibrant aesthetic.

Pid puts you in the shoes of a little boy named Kurt, who finds himself stranded on a strange planet after an even stranger bus ride. Although the planet seems to be inhabited by friendly, yet unique characters, all Kurt wants to do is find his way back home. Here’s where you come in. Early in the game, Kurt comes across an orb that allows him to manipulate gravity. This, coupled with several other items you encounter and use over the course of the game, will allow you to make your way through the various puzzles.
