Recently we brought you the long awaited news of the PS Vita–finally–receiving an update that would allow you to play PSone Classics on the go. By now this update, v1.80, has gone live around the world bringing us exactly what we have been asking for, well sort of. Sony Speaks Out About PSone Classics on Vita
The reported leak about Buzz Lightyear of Star Command being on the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita got the press going. With no actual date or even time frame set, gamers are starting to feel weary, wondering when or if it’s even coming. Well fret no more, the good folks over at CVG have managed to dig up a twitter post that is only a few days old on this very subject. When asked about an update on the situation Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Worldwide Studios, replied “Our engineers are working hard on it…Pls be patient”. Many people say this should have been included from release – what else do you think should have been included and hope to see in the next update?

PSone Classics May Soon Be Portable
Since the launch of the PlayStation Vita fans have been extremely happy, the console allowing them to take franchises new and old everywhere they go. Since then we have seen all sorts of apps launching from editing software to the more recently released Skype, but one thing we haven’t seen is PSone Classics. Curious, the fans turned to Sony to be met with a familiar two word response: “coming soon”. As Sony doesn’t have the best track record of being honest or keeping their word (cough–backwards compatibility–cough), we have been skeptical of when or if we would see this update.
However, it appears as if though we may not have to wait much longer. Reddit member ryukyu22 made a recent post regarding finding and buying Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on his PS Vita. Sadly though, after a successful download and an immediate appearance of the game title bubble, when launched an error was presented: “This file is corrupted”. This doesn’t officially mean anything, but one can only speculate that if the game is on the PlayStation Store, there must be a reason… right?
