Virtual-On, Virtua Striker are virtual teases outside of Japan

Virtual-On

Hearts will be breaking next week outside of Japan when two SEGA classics are not released on PSN and XBLA. The giant robot classic, Virtual-On and arcade style soccer title, Virtua Striker will not grace Europe or the US in the foreseeable future. Though if one happens to reside in Japan, the games can be purchased for a paltry 800 yen or 400 Japanese Microsoft points.

Need your Virtual-On fix? Xbox 360 owners can enjoy Virtual-On Force or Virtual-Oratorio Tangrem and PS3 players can wait patiently for Virtual-On Marz.

PS Vita Graffiti Artists Stifled- Jet Set Radio Delayed

[Source]

Fans of the SEGA classic, Jet Set Radio will have to put a lid on their desire to play the game on the PS Vita today. SEGA announced that the game would be delayed, with no confirmed release date in sight.

The game gained a popular following when it was originally released on the Dreamcast nearly 12 years ago. While SEGA sites “necessary development optimizations” as the primary need for the delay, no other details were revealed. SEGA has instructed fans to check the website (www.sega.com) for update, though at the time of this article it does state Jet Set Radio is “Out Now.”

NiGHTS into Dreams HD review (PSN)

NiGHTS into Dreams HD was developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA. It was released on October 2, 2012 for $9.99. A copy of the game was provided for review purposes.

NiGHTS into Dreams HD is a beloved title that originally came out for the SEGA Saturn back in 1996 (and ported to the PS2 in Japan only in 2008). The game not only brought us a new controller that introduced a joystick to the Saturn family, but also garnered quite the following. There’s simply nothing like it on the gaming market, which might be the reason why it never became the established franchise SEGA wanted it to be. As of lately, however, SEGA has been doing a great job bringing the nostalgia back to older gamers. With Jet Set Radio HD, Sonic Adventure 2 HD, and now, NiGHTS into Dreams HD, they’ve really been catering to a certain audience.

The story in a nutshell follows two children who are in a dream world, Elliot and Claris, and are aided by a Nightmaren named NiGHTS who must stop the evil ruler of Nightmare, Wizeman in order to restore peace in the real world. NiGHTS into Dreams has a unique style and can be challenging at times, so it might not be for the gamers of this generation. This is a classic game remade for the people who remembered it in the 90′s and want to relive a bit of nostalgia, or for the people who were always a bit curious.

The basic idea of NiGHTS into Dreams is to collect 20 blue orbs and deliver them to the giant crystal looking orb found in each level called the Ideya within 120 seconds (180 seconds for the final level). After doing this for all four of the tracks in each level, you are presented to the boss at the end of every stage. The boss fights are trial and error for the most part, but they’re not too difficult once you figure them out. Both Claris and Elliot have four stages each, and the only way to advance to the final one is to earn the grade of at least a C in the previous three stages. Going for the A grade in each level is the biggest challenge of the title, and will require you to master acrobatic tricks and looping around the stars and blue orbs.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit review (PSN)

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit was developed by Arkedo Studios and published by SEGA. It was released on Spmber 25, 2012 for $9.99. A copy of the game was provided for review purposes.

Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is a crazy adventure right from the start. You are Ash, Prince of Hell, it is your job to maintain an evil appearance and make sure Hell is, well, Hell. Ash has a secret, a dark one, he loves rubber duckies. After a paparazzi takes a compromising photo of Ash and his little yellow friend, he must do what any ruler of Hell must do, make them pay.

The developers Arkedo take you to a world that is vibrant, bright and hilarious. The art style and crude humor will take you right back to the 90′s, reminding you of shows like Aaahh! Real Monsters and games like Mortal Kombat all within 10 minutes of each other. This journey of vengeance against those who have scene your photo will take you from the dark fiery pits of Hell, to bright rainbow filled parts of…Hell? You never know what to expect around the next corner, as you travel in your death-wheel carting your huge arsenal of weapons.

Jet Set Radio HD review (PSN)

Jet Set Radio was developed by Smilebit and published by SEGA in 2000, after 12 years it returns as Jet Set Radio HD. This downloadable title is available on PSN for $9.99.

Jet Set Radio, HD, Sega, PSN, Skating, Tagging, Radio, PlayStation,

In the glorious good ol’ days of the SEGA Dreamcast console, Jet Set Radio became something of an underground favorite – even spawning a sequel in 2002  on Xbox as Jet Set Radio Future.  As one of the first cell-shaded graphic art games, Jet Set Grind – as it was originally known – had left an impression on an entire gaming generation for its revolutionizing visuals, groovy soundtrack and quirky story.

There have been other recent re-releases of SEGA “hits” that have garnered varying levels of graphical and integral upgrades that have removed the nostalgic glow. As the next part of SEGA’s recent High Definition line-up, Jet Set Radio HD learns from the mistakes of their earlier HD attempts, but is it enough to match memories’ rose-tinted haze?

Classic SEGA titles coming to PSN

SEGA fans everywhere should rejoice, two of the longest awaited HD remakes have been dated. Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS into Dreams will both be hitting PSN on October 2 and will cost a measly $9.99. If you have ever played either of these games then you already know what all the hype is about, and no doubt have some very nostalgic memories.

The re-release of these two games is big enough news all on its own, but apparently SEGA felt more was needed. NiGHTS will come packed with Christmas NiGHTS, an expansion that was previously only available on the Saturn through a holiday bundle. The extras don’t stop there either, for a small fee of $3, you can purchase Battle Mode for Sonic Adventures 2. Battle Mode will add more characters and maps and will give you access the beloved Chao Karate, which was kind of like a cute sumo wrestler game mode.
