“Free” Games Blow-Out Coming to Plus Members This Month

With E3 2012 in full swing, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) Jack Tretton revealed at the Sony Press Conference that Plus members will be getting a bunch of titles throughout June at no extra charge. Tretton announced that twelve games will be available for download for Plus subscribers, however thirteen titles were actually shown at the presentation. PSN Tuesday: January 17th, 2012

The Store seems to be making huge strides this year in enticing gamers with some sweet, sweet deals. This week on the PlayStation Blog we’re given the full list of this week’s releases that will whet your gaming appetite. Couple the list with the recent announcement of the 12 for ’12 sale, the Store is offering quite the doozy this week:

Sony announces “Only on PSN” system, downloadable PS2 re-releases

Every week through October, starting with on the 4th, the Store will see releases exclusive to the PSN under the new Only On PSN programme. According to the PlayStation Blog two of these releases, Eufloria and Okabu, are the result of a $20 million investment made by Sony as part of their Pub Fund efforts. Read the rest of this entry »

PSN’s Awesome Autumn Exclusives Could Dominate XBL’s Summer of Arcade

In the waning days of Xbox LIVE’s Summer of Arcade, you’ll find no bigger Bastion supporter than me. Eric Chahi’s From Dust was just my kind of innovative strategy game. Hell, I pined for Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet since PAX East 2011. And when Sony announced the PSN Play promotion, I wasn’t even that impressed. Four out of the five titles were multiplatform. Where’d that $20 million for downloadable exclusives go?
