With E3 2012 in full swing, CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) Jack Tretton revealed at the Sony Press Conference that Plus members will be getting a bunch of titles throughout June at no extra charge. Tretton announced that twelve games will be available for download for Plus subscribers, however thirteen titles were actually shown at the presentation. The Store seems to be making huge strides this year in enticing gamers with some sweet, sweet deals. This week on the PlayStation Blog we’re given the full list of this week’s releases that will whet your gaming appetite. Couple the list with the recent announcement of the 12 for ’12 sale, the Store is offering quite the doozy this week:

Every week through October, starting with on the 4th, the Store will see releases exclusive to the PSN under the new Only On PSN programme. In the waning days of Xbox LIVE’s Summer of Arcade, you’ll find no bigger Bastion supporter than me. Eric Chahi’s From Dust was just my kind of innovative strategy game. Hell, I pined for Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet since PAX East 2011. And when Sony announced the PSN Play promotion, I wasn’t even that impressed. Four out of the five titles were multiplatform. Where’d that $20 million for downloadable exclusives go?
Sony has announced release dates for three upcoming PSN titles.
As is the curse of the indie developer community, great games are often overlooked. Back in January, Sony Online Entertainment announced a handful of unique titles that met their media demise as soon as they hit the net. That, as they say, is a shame. Read the rest of this entry »
