PSNFancast Episode 7 – Wearing the Pouch as a Hat

It’s another edition of the PSNFancast, and while video games eventually become the main topic for Angelo Valdivia, Josiah Renaudin and XBLAFans.com guest Ross Adams, many hard-hitting questions about Australian culture are answered right off the bat. After a bit of nonsense, the ATV game Mad Riders, Resistance: Burning Skies and Pure Chess are discussed, along with the insanity of Table Top Tanks. Ross explains his new-found love of Shadow of the Colossus, while the crew tackles why God of War may not exactly be a “must-play game” anymore.

Plenty of Vita-related news is handled by Angelo, and while it’s still a week away, Sony’s E3 press conference is speculated on during the Topic of Interest. The community sound off on Sorcery and the PlayStation Move as a whole before the show closes with bit of breaking news on the Network.

PSNFancast Episode 6 – Dumb in the Good Way

It’s a jam-packed week of releases on the PlayStation Network, and it’s up to Angelo Valdivia, Christopher Hague and host Josiah Renaudin to cover them all. The crew starts off with the PlayStation Move showpiece Sorcery and all of it’s motion-controlled goodness, move on to the wonders of Table Top Tanks, and attempt to explain the allure of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. A few Sega Classics are discussed, but it doesn’t take long before Angelo jumps into Sega’s most recent release, Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 2.

Journey somehow finds its way back into the conversation in the what we’ve been playing segment, but the PSN team quickly composes itself and tackles the hard-hitting news of the world. Plans to save the Vita from it’s poor start are soon constructed, with listener questions and comments answered before the show comes to a close.

Vita Getting New Augmented Reality Game

Over on the PlayStation Blog EU Steve Oldacre (of development studio Devil’s Details) has announced an upcoming multiplayer AR game for the Vita titled Table Top Tanks. As the the name suggests, Vita owners will be able to use the augmented reality power of their handhelds to hold small tank skirmishes within their immediate real-life environments. The game also supports ad-hoc (local) multiplayer for competitive play.

To up the stakes and scale of the battles, Oldacre also suggests printing off A4-sized AR markers (found here) to set up larger matches on the floor if a table is too small.

Table Top Tanks will be available on the Vita’s Store on May 23rd for €1.99.
