A brand new iteration of the immortal and endlessly popular FPS Counter-Strike will arrive early next year on both PC and consoles, Valve announced yesterday.
CS: GO features “new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leaderboards, and more. ” And that’s about all Valve said.
This isn’t the first time Counter-Stike will have graced consoles. In 2003, the franchise came to the original Xbox, with a rather tepid response. Here’s hoping for a smoother transition this time. We won’t have to wait long to get our first glimpse of the game, the press release confirms that it will be playable at the upcoming PAX Prime convention later this month.
